I am listening to the Ting Tings and it is such fun 80’s style music I am feelin like I am a freshman in college again!
Did 30 minutes and 5.9 miles on my recumbent bike today and made good food choices. I am also buying purified water and ya know, I think it has helped clear my sinuses!?!? Who knows.
Who knows anything!?!?!?!
I JUST know I am GIDDY about being back here!
SWEEEEEEETIEEEE PIES!!!!!!!! HURRAY!

HA! T, no, I am drinking it. I use distilled for my nose doucher. BUT, I have not done that in awhile, again. WHY can’t I just do that daily? So silly.

Laynie. Black eyed peas. Yum. They are like a small white bean with a black spot on them. So cute. Nice small size, smaller than black beans even, which are small compared to pintos etc.
To quote a source “They are valued for both taste and nutritional value. In addition to a high protein content, black-eyed peas serve as an excellent source of calcium, a great choice if you are a vegan, and are also high in vitamin A and folic acid.”

Another tidbit about Black eyed peas. First. If you google them, you get Fergie and Will.I.Am. HA!HA!HA! Next. the reason they are popular in the south as “Good luck” etc is because the yankees during the war would often not burn down those fields because they thought it was just cattle feed and not of value to people. Southerners sometimes survived on them when all the rest of their crops were burned in the war. According to a few sources anyway.

THe DAMN DOG is back running around! Are you kidding me? The police were over to that house last night warning them to obey the leash laws.

Did everyone have a fun Superbowl Sunday? I only caught a few minutes of the game in between shopping and going to movies….I’m such a girl

The nice guy at the department store gave me his “friends and family 20% discount” because I was friendly It pays to be nice and smile….it really pays to be nice and smile after the person in line ahead of you is a grumpy jerk

I saw “Up in the Air” for the second time…it wasn’t any better the second time. It’s a good movie, but I don’t get what all the hype is about (other than getting to stare at George for 2 hours). Last night I saw “Crazy Heart.” EXCELLENT movie! I loved it. I can’t wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it over and over

I hope everyone is doing well. MJ, what have you been eating? I’ve pretty much given up food…It’s easier to stay awake if I don’t eat at all

I hope everyone has a great week! I have a 4 day work-week and a 4 day weekend and another 4 day work-week! YAY! Oh, and I get to see Billy Joel and Elton John this weekend. I bought myself tickets for my birthday last March for their November show, but Elton called in sick so it’s rescheduled for this weekend. It’s the birthday gift that’s lasted a year (the looking forward to it part). I’ve seen them both individually a few times and have always wanted to see them together. I can’t wait! My little brother is going to go with me. He’s 11 years younger than I am and I tortured him with Billy his entire childhood

Random thought: I am always ALWAYS amazed at how fast a person moves up the ladder of it more quickly than one would think. Here’s the deal. I am back on my exercise bike after using it as a clothing rack for a long time. I remember how good it felt to ride it yet I felt so sick, so tired, all. the. time. Well, I am feeling better and got back on it. The first day, (which was what, 5 days ago? I really should have written it down I spose) I could barely go 10 minutes and barely to a mile. Now, just like a week later, after doing it every day 2 times per day, I am riding 20 minutes and more than 3 miles twice per day.
I refuse to imagine what would have happened had I not stopped using that bike when I did. No sense looking back. “exercise bikes do not have rear view mirrors” after all. )
I know I have far to go.
I know things can change in many directions.
For now, however, I am so grateful.

T! I have yet to see Up in the Air. Not sure what Crazy Heart is about.
Will have to look into them.
Being nice is the only answer to most of life’s “deals”. Glad you got a little monitary love back from it. Awesome concert you are going to. I must tell you, the last concert I went to was probably …. oh wow, what was it… The Keane Brothers with Bill Cosby as their opening act? The Osmonds? Crazy.
What have I been eating? Brown rice, the beans family, cucumbers, the veggies that don’t screw with me, chicken boobays, pork steaks and loin, beef, brown rice cakes (little butter and salt on them), some butter, canola and olive oil, plain lays potato chips (but those are dangerous and mess with my blood sugar so very seldom), split pea soup, organic refried black beans, some white potato, tried sweet potato but again, so sweet, felt like I was eating candy (roasted so it caramelized), quinoa, purified water, popcorn (though also a blood sugar issue potential), mostly the yolks of eggs and not often.

I miss coffee still terribly. Was going to try it again today. Some say the issue with it is caffiene, some say it is also that there is a mold issue. Corn also may have a mold issue. Ya know, most foods have MOLD ISSUES! HA!HA!HA!HA! GIVE ME SOME DAMN COFFEE! HA!HA!HA!
I also miss milk products, but the rice milks etc are full of “crap” in them. I saw where I can make my own but geez.
So anyway.
That’s the food story, morning glory!
Makes me so SAD that you are “sans food” T.
Makes me actually pissed along with it.
There has to be a freakin answer out there somewhere.
I claim an answer for you.

The sun is finally out here, shining on the feet of snow that sparkles like it has diamonds in it. I need sun. I know this. It has been missing a lot this winter.

Malky has not been around here at the spa and she had part one of a several part surgery today so I am thinkin of her also.
Always so many people to care about.
It is hard sometimes with so much going on with so many people, but also it’s so good to know that so many people who are common friends with each other care so much and are a “community” even if the miles are wide between.

I don’t think I’ve gotten smarter or dumber with age…I just think differently I don’t spend so much time and energy sweating the small stuff….I guess as I get older I realize that life’s too short to waste on silly stuff. I’m glad to hear you’ve been keeping busy. We need a list somewhere of your television appearances so we can be sure to catch them! Miss you and love you!

Emjay – Isn’t Mercy good? I haven’t watched this week’s yet, but I really like it. I’ll be catching up on all of this week’s shows during my FOUR DAY WEEKEND! YAY! I’m off until Tuesday now (although I do have a huge work project to work on during those 4 days….but I can do it in my jammies on my couch ).

How far are you going on the bike? Have I told you that your bike updates have motivated me to get on my treadmill every day? I’m not going as far as you are on the bike (cuz I get so bored), but at least I’m moving. I haven’t been to the gym in over a week, because work is so crazy these days, but I get on the treadmill for at least 30 minutes when I get home at night…cuz MJ is riding her bike! Wanna race?

Hey Elena! How’s the daycare going? How old are the kids you’re watching?

Lydia – I hope you and the family are enjoying the end of Winter and are getting ready for Spring and all of the fun stuff that comes with it!

Malky – I hope you’re doing okay after your surgery. What did they do? What are they going to do with the next two? I really hope it’s helping to relieve your pain!

{{{SHANNON}}} I’m sorry you weren’t able to start Chemo today. I woke up this morning and my first thought was, “I need to send Shannon some love. She’s starting chemo again today.” Then I got to my computer and saw it wasn’t happening and I was really bummed….so bummed I didn’t know what to say so I sent no message. I’m sorry! You’re always in my thoughts and prayers and I know the fever is going to be gone so you can start next week! As much as we hate Chemo…we love Chemo because it helps you in the end. {{{hugs}}}

Hola Chicas y Chicos!

A belated Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone! I hope everyone did something special. I had my Non-Valentine’s date with my brother the night before. Billy and Elton were AWESOME! I love them both (Billy a little more than Elton) Since the concert was in Oakland, I went down early and played with the World’s Cutest Niece and Nephew before. We played the Toy Story Memory game and danced to Pixar’s Greatest Hits! I love being an aunt

My brother took BART (the scary train that goes in the tunnel under the Bay/water) over from San Francisco and met me at the concert. Since I knew I was going to have to walk back to my car alone in the middle of the night, I parked close to the building and resolved myself to the fact that I’d be spending 2 hours waiting to get out of the parking lot at the end of the night. Sketchy is too nice a term for the neighborhood the Coliseum is in, and while I know the Billy and Elton crowd is different than the A’s crowd…I had a bad/scary experience in the parking lot after a baseball game last year…I decided not to park way far away near the exit. So after the concert I sat in line, in my car, for about 15 minutes, without moving. When we finally started to move, three cars didn’t let the guy in who was trying merge from one of the aisles, so I let him in. As soon as I did, this older gentleman, with a staff pass around his neck, came to my car window and said, “That was nice of you to let them in.” I said, “What’s one more car in front of me at this point?” and smiled. He said, “Follow me, I’ll take you out the staff exit. So I followed him and was on the freeway in 4 minutes! YAY! I got home a little over an hour later and I guarantee you I would have still been in the parking lot when I got home if he hadn’t snuck me out the back way. YAY for random acts of kindness!

I’ll probably be a bit scarce for the next week or so. It’s my annual crazy, busy, sleep deprived week at work. A small part of my job is to read every piece of legislation introduced in California. The introduction deadline is Friday and everyone waits til the last minute, so… Last year they introduced just under 3,100 bills. So far this year they’ve only introduced a couple hundred….so the rest will show up between now and Friday at midnight. I will be sleep deprived and blind by the time it’s over

Shannon – Are you on for chemo this week? I hope your fever is gone!

MJ – I really like Mercy too. I like that we spend equal time out of the hospital, in their personal lives, as in the depressing hospital

Elena – I hope daycare is going well.

Heidi – I’m glad you are done playing Hide and Seek for now

Malky – I hope you’re second surgery goes well and helps more!

HI KITTENS!!!!!!!!!!!

Back from the doc appt today. Don’t know much more than I did, but gee I love her. She is a sweet spirited woman who really cares.
I got a new scrip for epipens, cream for rosacea, diflucan to kill yeasties, singulair to calm the reactions, a water pill to take only when needed. She took me off blood pressure meds cuz I don’t need it (hurray!) and told me not to worry about my throat closing up cuz the answer is to dial 911. Hard for me not to worry about it but I will try.
I brought her cookies from my freezer, her favorite that I gave her for Christmas, cuz she is on a weight loss team against me. HA!HA! She ate a cookie when I was with her and then said she should just give me the $10 we have bet so she can eat the rest of them. She then tried to tell me potato chips were good for me! HA!HA!HA! She spent over an hour with me just talking and trying to figure my stuff out.
Not sure we DID figure it out, but we shall see how it goes.
I feel hopeful even as I sit here with my face burning.

T! Maybe you accidentally went to a different spa! HA!HA!HA! My friend and her hubby dropped their car off at a dealer in Fargo to have it fixed this week. They got a loaner for the day and shopped like insane people. Then they went back to the dealer and asked for their car. The dealership could not find it. They asked to speak to their sales guy Topher, the guy hadn’t heard of him. Got management involved. Management checked on their car etc. As the manager was walking back to them with a concerned look on his face, myfriend’s hubby looked out the window of the dealership and said “there is a big sign down the street that says (the dealership they left their car at)”. THey went to the wrong damn place! HA!HA!HA!HA!

I had thee best tasting flaxseed oil today. YUMMMMMM! For real. It was glorious. Tastes like earthy butter.

Happy March, Everyone! I can’t believe it was a year ago that we saw you up in Tahoe, ANT! That weekend was so much fun

Emjay – That is too funny about your friends and their car! HA HA HA! My boss dropped her car off for service one morning before they opened. She filled out the form and dropped her key in the mail slot thingie and when she went back to pick it up after work it was gone. Someone had stolen it! They determined that a hand could fit in the mailbox slot to take keys out. DOH!

Elena – I hope the babysitting is going okay and the kids are behaving for you!

Shannon – How are you feeling? Do you know when Chemo is starting back up again? Or did it already and I missed it? Either way, I hope you’re doing okay.

Heidi-Deidi! How come you don’t come to the spa anymore? I miss you here

I have my first face to face appoinment in 6.5 years with my Endocrinologist today to try to figure out why I’m not absorbing my thyroid medication (I had my thyroid removed almost 20 years ago). In the pre-visit blood tests she ordered it was discovered that I fall into the “Severely” Vitamin D Deficient category. UGH! I wonder if that’s the cause of all of my problems for the past 6.5 years. I’ll be asking her when I see her today.

I hope you are all well!

T..I hope you had a great visit with your dr..and got answers.I know this whole thing sucks..for you and Em..I hate this for you.

So, my car took a shit..cv joint and or transmission.
I swear it’s like God hates me sometimes yanno? I know that’s not true, but damn…I feel like we can’t get a break! It will work out, I know it will.

The daycare thing isn’t going..my friend is so flighty..I don’t know from one day to the next what the crack is going on..so I’m not really doing it now..I am watching kids at my mom’s tho..she has an inhome daycare..and had a hysterectomy a month ago, but cannot lift..so I get to see my niece and nephew everyday and there is a new baby there too..and omg I think awful things, like I wanna kidnap her and run away to South Dakota and hide..( why not? em’s there) She is the cutest baby, 2 months old and smiles for miles and miles.

I had a mini breakdown today about the car, ( thanks em for listening to me bitch and moan and cry ) But am better..I’ve just got to let God handle it..for me. Because I can’t do anything about it.

I do think that I need to find a good dr, that will take payments or sliding scale or whatever, and see about disability..I have neuropathy in my legs and feet, and t’s getting worse, I’m thinking..I had to go to the ER the other night because I could barely walk. I have a lot to process with that…it’s so sucks not having insurance…ugh.

Anywho..man I rambled huh?
This place is cathartic, and I need to come here more often.

Hi Kids!

I’m sad I won’t be able to make the Bash There is no way I can afford a trip with my son transferring in the Fall. I’ve already given notice where I live because I need to find a cheap carport to park the car I will be living in in while I’m paying for his education.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I spent the day recovering from the past few days. I highly recommend you all stay away from “gastrointestinal anaphylaxis!” UGH!!! I’m feeling much better now…now I only feel like I was just run over by a tank

Elena – I’m sorry the daycare didn’t work out, but happy you’re able to help your mom out!

Shannon – I hope you find the right medication and you feel better (and can start chemo) soon!

Emjay – How’s the “air” diet going? Do you feel like that’s all you can eat yet? LOL

Hi kittens!

Another day another “no dollar” here on the prairie. I am so excited for more daylight in the evening. MAYBE we will melt the snow in our yard by JUNE this year!
Having it light out well after 7 is quite amazing. I think it was even more noticable since we have had fog and dark gloom for so long.

I painted my fingernails orange today… thinking of the colony and ANT.
Amazing how strong my nails get when I am eating well.

Am I full of “no info” tonight or what!?!

Guess I am tired. Still a bit overwhelmed by some things in my life, but who isn’t sometimes right?

Hi Kids -

I hope everyone else is enjoying beautiful Spring weather like we are here.

I’ve temporarily disabled my FB account, in an attempt to preserve my own sanity while an untreated bi-polar family member is spining out of control and having their “friends” harrass me via FB e-mails. UGH! I can’t save her and I know that…I just wish she was able to understand that.

Anyway, in case anyone notices I’m gone and wonders why, that’s why. I hope I don’t lose my spot as ANT’s friend. They said when I logged back in I will have all of my friends and pictures and wall back. I hope that’s true!

Time to get back to work. I just opened my office window so I could listen to the lovely young man outside playing his violin for the third day in a row. It’s such a beautiful sound and so soothing…it makes working much more pleasant

HA HA HA Emjay! I am sure of who it is and it isn’t you!

I’ve been trying to help her for 2 weeks now…but she only hears 10% of what I say and when that plan doesn’t work out, spins out of control again. She’s hitting a deadline for the current crisis in her life and is absolutely, positively OUT OF CONTROL and I can’t take it anymore. 15 calls and 5 text messages in less than 90 minutes last night (I didn’t answer or respond to any of them). Then first thing this morning, here we go again….

Anyway, Heidi has my e-mail address. Maybe you can get it from her in a super-secret FB message

I promise I’ll be back…just as soon as things calm down. Nobody is threatening me…I just can’t take the attacking e-mails from “the people who care about her” (apparently unlike myself) without wanting to respond in a more attacking way (which I don’t want to do).

I have minor panic attacks each time my phone rings. AHHHHHHHHHHH!

Anyway, I’ve done everything I could possibly do, short of driving a few hours, wrestling her into a car and dragging her to a facility…which would let her out just like they did the other morning after a short 8 hour stay.

Happy Place! Happy Place! I’m on a warm, tropical beach, listening to the waves, while cute boys with great smiles bring me drinks…drinks that don’t give me hives! HA HA HA

When I first heard about the new site, I kind of thought it meant that all the ANT colony sites would be rolled into one, which I think would be great. But then I realized it was just NBC being displaced. It’s all good, I guess, but in a way I think it might be easier on ANT if he just had the one blog spot to communicate with all of us at once. Not that he couldn’t be on all the other places, too, if he wanted, but for colonists, the one place would be kind of cool.

I’ll be happy if we ever get back to “normal” where you could count on somebody being here almost all the time. It was a comfort. Especially for me, when I have breathing difficulties at night, I always was soothed by knowing I wasn’t really “alone” until I could get it under control and try to go back to sleep. Miss that.

I went to be early for me last night @midnight. Long story,but didn’t get to watch the results show of DWTS as was on the phone to SHAW cable about PVR and error warning etc. I now have to wait until April 9th for a tech to come!!! Grrrrr!!!!

Emjay, I use some Norwex products and just love them even though they can be pretty pricey. There’s a cloth that you can buy for cleaning glass that works amazingly without streaking. My sister and I both love it. What did you end up buying?

Nothing much happening today. I’ve dealt with the window guy, the fireplace guy and the plumber over the last couple of days. Today just a visit with Mom and a trip to the bank. I know when I first started posting here there were OTHER “ALYCATS” and ALIS and ERINS and DAWNS and DONNA’s and ROBINS and GENES… etc!!! ALL used to get mixed up who was who… DIane named me ALI-KAT and I have used that since.

My first post was to ANT over two years ago.. and for awhile after..I just wrote to him..was “afraid” I guess to comment to anyone else..Plus some of you .. like DEE.. MO and others already kind of “knew” each other from previous blogs etc.. and I was shy to “jump in” . This was my first experience online and in the blog world!

In my first post written to ANT ..I commented to him about going for an MRI for his headaches and added how I thought he couldn’t possibly read through all the comments to get down to mine to even see it and he COMMENTED back to me..LOL and I about fell over haha!! He said that OF COURSE he reads them ALL .. ..why would it seem impossible that he reads through all the posts??!! He really did I learned and also saw that he was not your usual “celebrity” and he would interact with us often back then and reach out to so many of us.
So I guess it is fitting that my last post on this blog be to ANT as well.

ANT ? I love you and thank you for all you have done for me and for so many of us..for all the time and energies you put into this blog and into this colony to see to it that we learned and cried and laughed and loved and grew to became the family we are today. WE could not have done it without you and your kindness and all your teachings and unconditional love for us all lighting the way.

I am grateful to you and this colony for so much.

I am frugile. So, I figured out that one 13×13 cloth was the same price just about as 3 wash cloths 12×12 and both had the silver antibacterial thang…. so I bought a set of 3 washcloths and also, the window cleaner cloth.
It was still over $40, which is MADNESS for 4 fracking CLOTHS!!!!!!!
Crazy. I think of it today and think “what the hell?”
Whatever. Only money. geeez.

My dermo appt today went ok. He says I have rosacea and gave me a few creams. Wish I could find out for sure what Rosie O did exactly about hers. SUN is the number one issue with it and she is in the sun in Miami all the time… and I have had no sun since September actually. Second highest stressor of rosacea is stress. Not sure how I can conquer that, but am willing to try to figure it out.

Anyway.

Emjay, when I first started with Norwex I was shocked at the prices but still managed to buy stuff anyway. I actually bought the window cloth for my sister for Christmas. LOL The girl that I bought from was originally here in Winnipeg but then she moved out to B.C. I’m still able to get supplies from her though.

Thanks to all who did the heavy lifting to get us moved over here. This last respiratory infection has kicked my butt and left me breathless, so I’m afraid I’m no help whatsoever.
I do finally have my appetite back, and I can just taste Donna’s Grandma’s pancakes! Just the way she made them for me the morning I left from the ANT colony picnic last year! What a sweetie. I had to leave earlier than most, and just as I was making the final check around my hotel room I hear a tap tapping at the door and there was Donna, beckoning me across the parking lot to have a delicious breakfast before heading to the airport.
Isn’t it great the way colony members are such compassionate caretakers of each other? Both in the cyber world and in real life.

Still asking for positive thoughts and prayers. Colin had surgery yesterday to have his gallbladder removed. Ten hours later, he was discharged. But now, it seems he’s developed an infection and may have to go back in. Fingers crossed that the antibiotics kick in and he heals without further incident. It’s so hard to be here, while he’s dealing with all this. I’m his mom — I should be taking care of him. But he has a very good friend keeping an eye on him, so I know he’s in good hands. With prayers and Colony energy sent out, I know he’s in terrific hands.

Well Good Day Everyone!! Happy Friday! Woohoo! I now have over 600 seedlings planted and im in gardening mood. No sign of any of the bulbs i planted yet. but April is a little too soon to be excited.

Okay Im excited. I could have suntanned today if i wasnt so busy avoiding doggy haircuts. Good news is i got lots done today. Been a steaming fool.

ANT REE- I think I always live in pj’s!!!! I get dressed maybe twice a week! I know just awful. I LOVE the rest and NO COOKING on Sunday! I don’t mind cooking, but I never know what to cook other than the same old thing.

ROBIN- I have a question about your Angel food dump cake. I bought pineapple, cake mix and cool whip. The pineapple is only 14 oz and not 16 oz. Should I add maybe 2 oz of cranberry sauce or just leave it at 14 oz? I don’t want it too dry. If anyone knows this answer I would love suggestions please.

I see NBC still up and running?! I did NOT run into any naked people there though on my visit…darn it…. HA!

ANT REE.. I think you have the right idea… DAWN and I will join your pajama party for sure and I think DEE will too! Reflecting on past Easters a nice thing to do as well…although that makes me happy and sad at the same time.

DAWN…..For the recipe I think it will be fine..maybe just add an ounce of water to it to be sure…or an oz of juice if you have any? I had to buy two 8 oz cans. But the recipe on the box I think only calls for maybe 1 1/4 cups water so I think it will be fine.. go for the extra oz of water ..all I would do. Good luck with it. Hope you are resting up!

Happy Easter to those of you celebrating! My house smells of Hyacinths that were given to me..I LOVE them..they smell so good! When my son was little he said he KNEW the EASTER BUNNY had come and I asked him HOW he knew that and he said ” I can smell his deodorant” ( the hyacinths had bloomed! LOL)

ERIN- I have wimped out about going out. Long story, but my brothers son, wife and 2 kids are here from Calgary. I don’t want to see them!!! You know the story. I’m all upset within myself so Shaf is watching movie and I will make the cake with my ear plugs. I know you are Vegan so feel bad telling you about lamb. I think it’s grilled cheese sandwiches and soup tonight. French toast with strawberries for brunch. The Greek Roast lamb is made with Rosemary and cooked very slowly and it just falls apart. The roasted potatoes are good too with either lemon or mustard on them. Just nicely flavored.

DEE- Your plants and seedlings sound really lots!!! NO KIDDING!!! LOL! I can’t wait for pictures in the summer. My peonies are up about 1 1/2 feet already. Daffodils are all done and soon the tulips are done too. Right now I only have pansies in hanging baskets and some I need to plant. The stupid rabbit ate my Red Calalilly!!! Grrrrrr!!!

I hope everyone has a nice Easter Sunday, whether spending it alone or with friends and family. I will stay home with the doggies — by choice. I just don’t feel like driving an hour to a relative’s house, eating, then driving an hour back home. Sounds too much like a waste of gas to me. But maybe I am just lazy. LOL Nevertheless, I plan on having a wonderful day, kicking back in front of the TV and catching up on missed programs, all the while munching on frozen grapes, fresh strawberries and , of course, popcorn.

Hey Ali, who shot JR?? LOL…I thought the “Shower Scene” was quite a surprise and amazing drama at the time…now it’s nothing compared to today’s tv technology.

Hubby and I have JUST gotten into the Desperate Housewives series and have been busy playing “ketchup” with the FIVE SEASONS thanks to the help of Netflix, will be waiting for season six to come out AND thanks to all the colony talk about DEXTER, we watched all the seasons again thanks to Netflix and can’t wait until it starts again!!!

WOW, How great it is to see more people posting on here!!! Love it all. Loved DWTS tonight except for Kate & Buzz. All the rest did better than last week etc. That’s all you can ask. Even Pam Anderson toned it down a bit thank goodness. Last week was too over the top! I loved Evan. I love Maks, but I didn’t vote for them tonight as I have to start being serious who I want to win! LOL! Of course Derek and Nicole were great even though they broke all the rules!!!

Baby Ella BROKE her arm Easter Sunday!

Brent was putting up the new trampoline they got the girls for Christmas
(you know, the safe one with the netting all around so they won’t get hurt??)

Brent was letting Ella ‘assist’ him by handing Daddy his tools. They were having so much fun! Ella is very funny! Even at 18 months she is a trickster!
So she started running off with his tools instead of just handing them to him. this went on for awhile and both were having fun until…
She just tripped will holding the big wrench and it caused what the doctors called

These breaks are hard to recognize because the person may still be able to move the limb involved and with babies, well they don’t react the same as older children.

I’m going at 10am C. with Julie to get Ella’s arm casted. She is in a soft cast right now. Because babies are in a constant growth, it will only take 10-12 weeks to heal! Thank GOD!

“I FEEL like such a Pouty PooPoo Head this morning”…this was my First Thought of the day and thought I’d share, LLLOL! Don’t know why, I guess I’m just tired from all the events lately. This week is Spring Break for my GrandBabies and POPPERS is working Nights, OF COURSE!!! He’s a shiftworker so things don’t always go as one would wish them to go. I don’t sleep well when he’s on midnights and I am sure this is playing a part in my mood today.

I was wondering about Easter Monday and truly didn’t know what it was…in researching, I gathered that it’s celebrated all over and basically means “day after Easter Sunday”?? I DID find something on Canada that I thought was interesting, so I thought I’d share that: Easter Monday is the Monday following Easter. It is not a statutory holiday except in Quebec, where the employer has the choice of providing the employee a holiday on either Good Friday or Easter Monday.

Early Christians celebrated the days immediately following Easter – the most important holy day in the Christian church – by telling jokes, playing pranks, and feasting on lamb. People would add fragrant oil or perfume to the Easter water they brought home from church, and then use this water to sprinkle and bless their food, pets, gardens, and homes.

On Easter Monday morning, men would wake their wives with a spritz of the perfumed Easter water as they whispered, “May you never wither.” On Easter Tuesday, women would return the favor as they awakened their husbands with a bucketful of the scented water!

I LOVED the part about waking up Hubby with a Bucketful of scented water. He’s only been sleeping less than two hours, I WONDER what HIS first thoughts would be if I did that to him on Easter Tuesday?? HMMMMMM… I better let sleeping dogs lie…Pouty PooPoo Head better sit around and wait until he awakes and comes out of his cave!!

ps. I LOVED Niecy(sp) last night on DWTS…I thought their story was beautiful, and her emotions were so raw. One could tell she was effected by the “realness” of it all. I still don’t have a definite favorite yet, but, she just became the forefront runner. I will be sad to see Buzz leave, but, he’ll always be a hero to me being a kid born in the fifties. Kate needs to go, but, I want to see her improve and relax more as time goes by, looks like she is going through some emotional breakthoughs and I relate to her more, just because I feel she is NOT a star, just a Pouty PooPoo Head like me!

GINGER…Oh poor baby Ella ( and MOM and GRANDMOM!!) She will do just fine though..my older son broke his arm at the very same age..just fell off a chair onto carpet no less … but hit it “JUST RIGHT” in order to do the damage he did. I was so upset just to see him in any kind of pain and then to have to have the cast on etc.. But it never slowed him down at all..he was FINE..it was ME that wasn’t! LOL I STILL have the cast!! OMG!

DAWN….It Was Maksim’s brother that danced with Lacey….he will be dancing again tonight with Maksim and Edita and someone else. Buzz and Kate both just kind of walked..not danced… but I have to give them both credit. He is in great shape but that was not dancing…and well.. Kate has never danced or performed. She is really trying and hanging in there though. I hope Buzz goes home first. It is hard to compare let’s say Kate against Nicole who has so much experience performing and dancing? No comparison! They should have a season just people never danced etc maybe to make it fair? But then again..would anyone watch that? I guess not..would be too painful! I kind of like seeing them improve each week etc though

DEE.. break down and get yourself some darn reading glasses! LOL though it does strain the eyes somewhat to try to read all through here. You can just increase the whole page size to make the font bigger if you have not already done that?!

Morning everyone. I wasn’t able to watch all of DWTS but from what I saw I think it’s time for Buzz to go. I caught some of Niecy’s performance which told an amazing story, Jake got on my nerves and I liked Evan.

GINGER…poor little Ella! Let us know how she does getting her arm casted.

DAWN…I’m home today, Mom tomorrow, groceries Thursday and plumber Friday. They came last week for the fireplace and that’s a process on its own LOL I’m not sure what order they come in but there’s an electrician and carpenter involved. I will be getting an electric fireplace.

Robin, my mom used to have that same problem…she was bothered by alergies and sinus problems this time of year. She had her thymus gland removed many years ago and her resistance was always way low.

I know you have gone through so much with your health, I hope you can get some relief soon!

Dawn, I definitely do not use the bi-pap machine. I completely gave up on any hope of ever using it. I am hanging on to the hope that eventual massive weight loss due to lifestyle changes from the diabetes will take away the sleep apnea issue. I have to believe that. It’s all I’ve got in the way of hope for that situation.

I stayed up yesterday morning until after 10:00 because I thought we were going yesterday to cast Ella’s little arm! Also ‘one’ of my brothers -in -law went home yesterday! YAY! This one was only here a few weeks though. AND he washes all the dishes (everyday) and helps cook! Heck he can stay!

So, I slept from 10:00am to 2:30pm and then I couldn’t keep my eyes opened much past American Idol! I did wake up about 4:00am C. LOL

Ella’s Pediatric Orthopedic Specialist says she DOES NOT need a cast! The splint that is on now is good and all she needs! YAY!

She will be re-checked in two weeks and if it is straight and strong…
wallah! The doc said her arm is not as bad as the ER doc said it was. But the doc said it could have improved even since Sunday night, that’s how quick toddlers heal! Thanks be to God!

OK, I know I’m new here, but, I have seen some venting done before and I would like to try it while I’m sipping my Iced Tea, Thanks Nancy!

Am I the ONLY one or is there more out there?? I have a difficult time with my Hubby when I am around the grandbabies…here’s why, I have raised my kids and I am not a school teacher, but, when I am around young ones, I STILL feel the need to teach them Life Lessons and give them advice and help them learn things I had to learn the hard way. Then SOMEWHERE in the background comes this BIG HUFF of air as if to tell me, “Back off”…he is a great daddy and Grandpa, and I WISH I could just SIT AROUND and wait for TIGER to make his comeback, BUT!!! Someone has ran things for the LAST FORTY YEARS and it wasn’t HIM! My question is: “How can I just LET GO and not worry for them?” HECK, they aren’t MY KIDS, LOL!!

Poppers just left to take two home and I have TWO MORE coming tomorrow…I JUST WANT SPRING BREAK TO BE OVER!!!! (Sorry to those who are enjoying the BREAK, I Feel For Ya!) BUT, Summer is coming soon and I NEED advice…or maybe just a VACATION!! LOL. Granny Ree’s Tired!!

OH MY GOODNESS Dee, I think Mario is just trying to make you jealous…he told me YOU ROCK!!

I can’t believe how similar our lives are. Hubby had someone come Monday and cut down a HUGE Pine Tree in our front yard. The noise went on and on and on all day. It was like losing a true friend and I was surprised at how it upset me. I LOVED that tree, only we were getting afraid more and more each year during hurricane season.

The guy told us it DID HAVE a bad spot in the center that had begun to weaken, so it was lucky we cut it down, I guess. Good News: when the cutters left and Hubby went to work that evening, I went to our wooded acre and dug up another pretty pine and transplanted it in the same spot. NOW, I will watch it grow for ANOTHER twenty years, LOL.

Sad part of the story, though, the waxwings had arrived just a couple of days before and they were SHOCKED when they couldn’t land in the tall pine and await their turn at the Holly Tree. They managed, though, and stripped every berry off the tree, bathed and waved goodbye until next year!! AMAZING!!

Colony Kat- Hope you enjoyed your break. It’s good to know you can take a break. I HAVE paperwork, unfortunatly it’s just junk mail that I keep meaning to go through and discard. I don’t even understand why I keep collecting it. Give me something to do one day, LOL. It’s great to see YOU! Take Care!

Nancy, I was a blood donor starting back in the ’70s. My dad was ON CALL at our local blood bank and hospital when I was a kid due to the fact that he had the blood type that was compatable with negative/positive and he had such rich blood, it helped him feel good to know he was helping someone.

My turn came when I met someone in the last stage of Muscular Dystrophy and needed donors. I was scared my very first time, but after, I understood the feeling that came with helping someone.

SAD STORY though, many years later, I was unable to donate due to scar tissue buildup in both arms and cried like a baby when the bloodbank told me my donating days were over! Then 6 years ago, I was diagnosed a Diabetic which would have ended my career. ;(…My blood type is B+, so that’s what I try to do…Be Positive!

So YES, if you can…BE A BLOOD DONOR!!

Happy Friday Everyone! I’m waiting for the plumber to come to be followed by the electrician who didn’t show up yesterday! I hate it when an appt is booked and they don’t show up. The electrician was supposed to be here yesterday morning so I called him at 2 p.m to see where he was and was told they were swamped and he couldn’t make it until today. Grrrr

Ant Ree & Dee, when I was designing my gazebo about 4 years ago I was told that all 9 trees along one side would have to be cut down to a much smaller size (due to power lines)! I was so upset that I totally changed the plan for the gazebo and moved it to the other side where I had to have one tree taken out. I was still upset but at least it was only the one tree.

Dawn, for the evaluation on Monday we are not allowed to attend. I’ve told them I want to be kept informed but you never know. My sister’s MIA is being transferred this morning from the hospital to a nursing home. I’ll write with the details when I can.

Erin, I know you’re locked out of your email and myspace but I hope you’re able to get on here.

Happy Friday Everyone!! I sure miss our ANT. I would love an update or a live chat session in the evening some time. I know he’s busy but….still miss him. I’m not sure I’m going to the Summer bash again this year. I really need to spend money on the house for needed fixes this year. Life happens.

Leg waxing is a wonderful thing. I’m just sayin’.

Maybe I’ll be brave and try the whole Brazillian next time? I’m too shy for that but I like the idea.

I can see what the attraction is/was to permanent makeup and wigs. Not that I would go there. Something about the permanence of tatoos and the hot and sweaty under a wig will keep me from those options for now. I do miss my nails and tan.

Hi Everyone! Oy! Having that kind of week. Can you believe my microwave quit working again? I think it is time to invest in an outdoor oven. Electricity does not like me. Teri–myspace says my account is undergoing routine maintenance? Hopefully, it will be fine soon. In case I forget, my friends daughter will be dancing on Monday’s DWTS. Can’t wait to see what they do!

NANCY–I don’t mind giving blood, I have good veins, but I scar from it. I also am told a lot that I can’t give blood because I am anemic. I try to do it when I can though, especially because I am not a super common blood type. We have a lot of boy scouts in my area and so it is easy to find a drive going on and not have to wait very long. I am leery of the plasma donating though. I have seen too many people have serious consequences from that. When I did not have insurance I loved giving blood, because they would tell you your cholesterol levels.

KAT–Good to see you! You are brave to wax! I tried it once and my pores started bleeding. I told the person you can just call me Sasquatch, never again, lol!

Ant Ree, Teri – You make me want to run out and transplant trees. Ant Ree we have land next to us where the old Poplar trees are dying and and more pine is able to come thru. It works well. Jack cuts the trees and runs them thru his sawmill and he is into woodworking. Oh I have to post the picture of the wagon he made. With the big wagon wheels. Its about 4′x8′, can be pulled behind the quad and we are parking it in the yard and filling with flowers. Oh it has a seat up front just like the old horse wagons.

That is the cool part. we have the wood and the shop to create and a hubby who knows how. Like you Teri i hate to see any tree die, but these ones are dying and they serve a great purpose. Love it.

Yippee skippy! Let the weekend begin! Unfortunately, it looks like it’s going to begin for me by throwing a bunch of chores my way. Guess that’ll teach me not to do them during the week! LOL

Ant Ree, you teach those grandkids of yours all the life lessons you feel are important. As an elementary teacher, I see so many kids who have parents and grandparents who feel ALL education is in the hands of the schools. It makes teaching reading and math very difficult when instruction is interrupted to teach basic lessons (socialization, hand-washing, manners, etc.) that the children should have learned at home. So teach away, and don’t let your hubby’s huffing and puffing deter you. Those kids’ teachers will thank you, of nobody else does!

So… I may have gotten a little lost… This place is huuuuuuge…and 314 comments is alot to get through. I may have skimmed. …Bad..I know.

What have a I been doing ? Not much. Just getting used to a new job. It has given me more freedom. So I find myself doing other things.

I cleaned up my Facebook & MySpace pages. Cleaned out old photos and such like. Sometimes it is nice to clean out the clutter to make room for other things in your life.

Have a good Sunday. I spent most of Sat in bed. Hubby cooked and cut up meat etc. I got up to spice it for him, but he did 4 batches of pressure cooker. We now have 8 meals frozen!!! Yeah! I couldn’t eat any of it though as too flipping sick. I had cereal. Right now I am having some cheese and crackers and some grapes. Bye for now.

Thanks Janice and Ali!! I have come to realize I AM from a different generation and it FEELS like the 1800’s, LOL. My BIGGEST pet peeve is I WAS taught to say “yes mam, yes sir-no mam, no sir”…passed it on to MY kids. The Grands say “YEA” when asked a yes or no question and ALLS I request is to answer “YES”! If that’s our biggest problem, we’re ok, LOL.

I FINALLY let Poppers know I DON’T appreciate the HUFF of AIR I hear in the background and he would be ignored UNLESS he manned up and Told me in Words, lol. He didn’t think I was getting the message and was happy to know I understood. MEN, gotta love ‘em!!

AND don’t worry, I was taught that it takes a village to raise the kids, and, I don’t see me changing overnight, so I will continue with the Life Lessons…I will just do it by example and love. It’s tiring, but, oh so rewarding!!

I woke up this morning saddened by the loss of one of my favorite actresses, Dixie Carter…she and Hal Holbrook were my favorite couple (after Paul and Joanne Newman), I am saddened for him. RIP Dixie!

Do YOU believe in Five Degrees of Separation?? I do, here’s why. There was a question of how we became acquainted with ANT and we ALL seem to have a similar route. I was not able to answer at the NBC website, so thought I would now. It is like I have been making my way here to YOU.

I once received a phone call from my sister asking if I had checked out the Rosie O’Donnell Show. I had not since I was working so I set up my VCR and NEVER missed another episode.

I loved her and her concept of connection and laughs AND I was touched by her Piano Player, John McDaniel. You could tell he was such a tru friend of hers and being newly acquainted with the Computer, I checked out his website. I ordered his CDs and chatted with members there. Then along came the Trolls and John closed that section of his website. He had a Member’s Only section all along and for a price of $14.95 a year, one was connected with him through posts and pictures, so I joined. He gives this donation to keep music in schools and it is a worthwhile cause. Therefore, the ONLY other website I ever joined was his and it occured to me that I was just steps away from meeting you.

It has been many years since I was a member there, life just seemed to get in the way…Hubby and I DID get to meet him and others when he had a concert in West Palm Beach here in Florida. It was such a fun weekend.

SO, if any of YOU see ANT, tell him when he sees Ross to tell Ross when he sees Rosie to tell Rosie when she sees JOHN, tell him Hubby and HOBO says HI!! (my brother works at Disney as a second job and gave me a denim backpack with the Disney Characters embroidered on it and I use it as a toiletry bag when traveling. I went to my Mom’s right after receiving it and when she saw me and the bag walk in she announced, “HOBO’s HOME!!” It was so touching and the name stuck and became my new e-mail addy at the time!

SO, that five degree of separation would be John McD, Rosie, Ross, ANT, YOU!!! It sure feels good to be home!!

Oh Dawn. My little bulbs are just barely poking thru. Most not even that. Peonys… agh… end of june for me. but omg. i have to take pics of all the seedlings. some seeds didnt take but the tomatoes all did. I have 50 plants easy. Ive been digging in dirt alot lately. Transplanted my humungous Aloe Vera and it is now 7 large Aloes. Im in growing heaven.

DEE- I look forward to your video of all the plants. I’m glad for you that all the tomatoes are coming up well. It’s so much fun to watch things grow. I bought a new Azelea bush last year as my Yucca plants were getting too big for the pot so I planted the bush in the ground. This year it’s all got lots of buds coming out right now. I have 3 Azelea bushes, 2 at the front and one at the back. My peonies are 3 different colors. Pink and 2 different reds. There is a man here with white ones and I wish he’s let me take a few bulbs in the fall, but I don’t know him well enough to ask. He lives beside my brother, but he won’t ask for me!!!

I went to the flower fields/farm of ranunculus flowers it was beautiful a rainbow of stripes as they separate them for sale of cut flowers and corms and they had a flag planting of freesias and anemonies just beautiful to see and a maze of sweetpeas to find your way out of I never knew there were so many different color combinations of sweetpeas

Spring bulbs are keeping a cheer in the air. Today’s sunlight includes FREE heat for the house… thanks again mother nature! I still wonder what ails our people burning fossil fuels when the earth is doing a perfect job on her own. If I lived in Denmark or Holland windmills would affordable. I don’t know it that’s really true.

Made it through my work “week.” I’m cutting it short this week… I am exhausted. Maybe a couple nights of at least seven hours of sleep will help. If not, I’m moving into a retirement home! LOL

LOVED AI tonight! Not because of the contestants, but just to hear and see Adam Lambert sing! I am still certain he didn’t win last season because it would have stifled his career. He’s too good to be held back by the title of Idol “winner.”

Have to get out the chain saw tomorrow and saw a bunch of limbs off my walnut tree. It hasn’t been pruned in ten years, and it’s grown out so much that it’s starting to block my TV dish. Can’t have my reception go bad! LOL I’ll sacrifice a bushel or so of walnuts for a TV signal. Think I also should get the hedge clippers and cut back my hedge so the meter man can read my meter easier. He might be grateful for that and fudge a little on the reading…. or not. But I can use that as incentive.

Heading back to FB…. darn if I haven’t gotten myself addicted on another application! HA! Have a good rest of the week, everyone!

Dad’s in the hospital with a racing heart and other complications due to untreated diabetes. 81 years old, and this is his first hospital visit ever…. so I guess he was due. Hopefully, the doctors can get him on the right track and taking proper meds from now on. I’m realizing now how much I still depend on him….

Hi Dawn. Ive been hanging out at NBC. I really have a hard time reading here. but anyway. Summer is happening. Yeehaw. I was outside today, got my hammock up and enjoyed lying there listening to Rosie on the radio. Then i planted a bunch of seed. hope they dont freeze. The ones inside are doing so well. Cant wait till i can get out there to plant. but in the meantime, trying to get some spring cleanup done.

Ive really been a bad girl. just playing computer games, arguing politics and being a hermit. Time to get out of the rut. I need to spend the time on the computer visiting with my friends, instead of goofy mb that fire me up. and games that zone me out.

I have a hair appt monday and lawyer appt tuesday. so im getting stuff done now. no more goofing around. Love you Sistas!! ????

Well, new air conditioner gets installed on Tuesday, windows are cleaned, waterline is in and so far no problems! All in all it’s been one heck of a great day, so far…… lol

I was watching a cooking show yesterday and they were making a coconut cake. The guy asked if we knew what the “coco” part meant in the word. Do You Know???

He said it meant “Monkey Face” because of the three holes on the coconut looked like a Monkey’s Face. Hmmmmmmmm, I was Impressed.

See??? One never knows when it will come in handy knowing all the Interesting Facts! LOL.

I became NOSTALGIC after speaking about John McDaniel so I went to his website and JOINED again…It was surreal to see a LOT of names of members still there after all these years that I knew and met at John’s Concert!

I saw a place that said E-Mail John, so I did…HE REPLIED BACK THAT SAME DAY and still remembered when and where we met and he remembered me and hubby…now THAT’s a surreal moment!
