Emjay, it sounds like the trip into the big city was productive! You’re killing me with all of the tomatoes! They are one of my mostest favoritest things…especially right off the vine and eaten like an apple…but I can’t have them anymore cuz they make my throat swell shut…that’s not a good thing

MichelleOpal – How old is your son? Some of my favorite memories with my son are of when we’d go Puddle Stomping. We’d put on our boots and jackets and go play in the puddles and gutters until we were soaked from head to toe Then we’d come home, dry off and drink hot chocolate I miss those days….

I hope everyone had a great day. I’m a stress case, but it’ll pass. I have one friend who has been having bad heart problems for the past 24 hours, but won’t go to the doctor. I have another friend who went in for an MRI of her neck and walked out with a probably aneurysm in her brain (unruptured) so I’m waiting to hear back on her follow up scans/tests. And today I was informed that I am being forced to furlough…it’s not clear whether it’s 1 or 2 days a month (5% or 10% pay cut) but it is clear it starts this pay period. UGH! Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather take a 10% pay cut than 100% anyday….but it’s going to make things even tighter for a while. Oh and I came home, walked out into the backyard and discovered some sort of flying stinging thing has burrowed into the wood right outside the door and is building a nest or hive. I don’t know if it’s a hornet or a wasp cuz I can’t see it…I can just hear it and see the dust falling from the hole where it’s digging….UGH! Guess who is calling the property manager first thing in the morning

But tomorrow is another day and everyone is going to be healthy and I’ll just give up Starbucks or concerts or something to make up for the furlough.

Shannon! I am glad you have fun with me on facecrack/crackbook. It is always a joy to see you there! Always fun when we colony people can banter back and forth. Truly TRULY there simply are NO BETTER PEOPLE in the universe than those who have been drawn to the colony and ANT.

I just heard from “the Blake” that we are going to the “bitty City” an hour from here. I told him I could not go tomorrow (cuz of live blog) so we are going soonish today instead. I need some basic stuff and garden plants!!! HURRAY I LOVE buying tomatoes and peppers and flowers to plant. I hope I can find some Roma Tomato plants.

I just know the show in Kansas is going to be spectacular. I’m not able to be there this time.. And, that hate mongering what’s his name, well… he won’t know what to do when all that positive energy hits him. How awful it must be to live his life. I bet he’s never experienced silly!

Speaking of silly, it’s true what some of you have said, children are the best teachers! Just yesterday, my son and I went for a walk around town. We played red light green light, kicked rocks, stepped on each other’s shadows.. just being goofy. When I grow up, I aspire to be more child-like. (When he grows up, he wants to be a monster.. hehehe.)

I have to say too, to all you who leave comments, you really rock. Tonight when I signed in, and I saw the familiar names, I got all warm and fuzzy. I really do look forward to getting to know you all better.

Now excuse me… I’m going to go hunt down some killer bunnies!

Silly is required behavior for me….if I’m not being silly everyone wants to know what’s wrong. I know none of you will believe that, especially Emjay, but it’s true

My happy news for the day is that my sister called and asked me to come down and babysit next month! YAY! Auntie T gets to be Super Silly for a day or two. The bad news is that while she (4 years old) only has attack stuffed animals…he (almost 3 years old) has attack trucks, and cars, and hard metal and plastic toys! Any advice, Craig?

I think it’s important to indulge in a bit of silliness. It changes your perspective.

When you think you are having a ‘crap’ day. Inject a little silly.

1) People will think you have lost your mind.
2) You’ll feel a lot better.

This weekend I learned that it’s important not to tell a 4 year old boy that the cute fluffly little stuffed bunny he is holding is an “Attack Bunny”. Because he will make it come true…and while his parent’s are in the store you will be ‘attacked’ by what was once an very innocent, never hurt anyone before bunny in the hands of a very gleeful 4 year old.

It’s like planting a tiny little seed and getting an orchard in ten seconds.

I blame the bunny.

He was looking at me funny.

Bummer about the ‘puter

I am even more disappointed now that I won’t be making it to Wichita.
